Han Dynasty (25 – 220 CE) Granary Jar with a conical tiled roof and made of pale pink earthenware, the whole covered in a dark green lead glaze. There is a central circular opening at the top. The cylindrical body of the jar is decorated with three bands of six, six, and three grooves, respectively around the sides. Residual burial earth is still apparent in parts of roof, body, and feet. The silo is supported on three bear feet. a pottery model of a granary, typically cylindrical and supported by three bear-shaped feet, used as a burial object or “mingqi” in ancient China. These jars symbolized wealth and were intended to provide grain for the deceased in the afterlife. The jar comes with a certificate of authenticity.
