Marked San Ildefonso Pueblo on bottom, this exquisite black-on-black pottery vessel is attributed to Carmelita Dunlap (1925–2000), a master potter of the San Ildefonso Pueblo. Raised and mentored by her legendary aunts, Maria Martinez and Desideria Montoya, Dunlap carried forward the world-renowned blackware tradition with her own award-winning precision.
