Charlotte Miller “Woven Topaz” Beaded Wire Sculpture Taos NM

Description

Copper Glass Cylinder Wire Form Sculpture This extraordinary open-panel sculptural basket form is among Miller’s most architecturally ambitious pieces. Four curved woven panels rise from a base with the sides cut open — creating a dramatic, lantern-like silhouette that reveals the interior while displaying the richly patterned exterior. The entire surface is woven from Japanese glass beads on a wire warp, bead by bead: a large-scale diamond lattice in amber gold with coral/pink fills and teal accent diamonds dominates the main body; a teal upper band carries smaller nested diamond motifs; vertical dark burgundy columns separate the panels. Gold metallic wire fringe erupts from the rim in a crown of radiating filaments — a signature finishing detail that transforms the functional rim into a sculptural element. 10″x12″x12″ Please pictures for condition details as the photos are considered part of the description.
