19th C. Heavy Cracluture but still retains most of its paint. Nandi is the bull vahana of the Hindu god Shiva, meaning happiness, joy, and satisfaction. He is also the guardian deity of Kailash, the abode of Shiva. Nandi signifies and conveys the meaning that the purpose of life is to realize the oneness of all creation and one’s identity with the Divinity. Nandi festival toys have a special importance during the festival of Pola. Pola is an ancient thanks giving festival celebrated during the Hindu month of Shravan during which farmers celebrate their cattle. 14″x12″x11″
