Antique Edison Diamond Disc S-19 Sheraton Phonograph with Records – Plays!
$546.00
Description
Oak floor-standing cabinet in the Sheraton style, characterized by its elegant, straight tapered legs and inlaid decorative details. Unlike standard phonographs of the era, these machines used a permanent diamond stylus and played proprietary “Diamond Discs” that were nearly 1/4 inch thick. Edison designed these to use vertical modulation (the needle moves up and down in the groove), which he believed produced superior, more lifelike sound compared to the side-to-side (lateral) movement used by competitors like Victor. Sold with 40+ “Diamond Disc” recordings. Shipping via uShipIt or carrier of your choice. TBD will facilitate packing and shipping but will not arrange for carriers. Please see photos for condition details as the pictures are considered a part of the description.
