The locks, usually owned by women and symbolizing the union of two people, can be offered to them by their husbands at the time of a birth or to celebrate the installation of the wife at her husband’s house. They have practical applications as locks on dwellings, but more importantly, food stores such as granaries. 17″x15″x2.5″
