RARE Michael “Miguel” Salazar Signed Bark Technique Cedar Bulto San Isidro
$960.00
Description
The figure depicts a hooded, bearded saint in a Franciscan habit holding a cross and what appears to be a farming implement (hoe or spade) crossed diagonally at the chest — iconography consistent with San Isidro Labrador, patron saint of farmers and farmworkers, one of the most beloved saints in New Mexican agricultural communities. Michael Salazar began carving as a teenager and died at 21, leaving behind roughly five years of work. His output is extraordinarily rare — far scarcer than his brothers Ernesto and Leonardo. Please see pictures for condition details as the photos are considered part of the description.
