Rose and Erni Cabat Feelie Studio Pottery Vase Pair

A signature miniature ceramic vase created by the American studio potter Rose Cabat (1914–2015). Feelies are individually hand-thrown on a potter’s wheel, primarily using glazed porcelain or stoneware. Cabat was a self-taught glaze chemist who developed a vast palette of unique colors and textures. Her glazes are often described as having a satiny, velvety matte finish that invites the viewer to touch them, which is where the name “Feelie” originates. While Rose was the artistic visionary behind the forms, her husband, Erni Cabat, often assisted with glaze development and technical support.
