E.M. Marlotte Drip Glaze Art Nouveau Cabinet Vase

On the base, you can clearly see the hand-incised script signature “Marlotte” running horizontally across the bottom. Directly above the signature is a distinct “D” mark. This uppercase “D” represents the Faïencerie d’Art de Bourron-Marlotte, used by Émile Mousseux and Aristide Bézard during their collaborations. This long-neck, bulbous vase perfectly showcases the studio’s iconic crystalline drip technique. The upper portion of the neck features a vibrant, streaking emerald-green glaze melting into a deep volcanic brown. Below the neck, the vase transitions into a beautiful, sandy beige, matte-finished stoneware base with faint, natural iron speckles. Given the specific combination of the “D” mark and the “Marlotte” script, this vase was likely produced during the peak Art Nouveau period of the workshop, roughly between 1902 and 1915.
