Ernesto Salazar Cedar Root Carved Moses Bulto/Santo

Signed and dated on base. Carved from a single block of native New Mexico cedar, the sculpture cleverly integrates the natural blue-grey weathering of the outer wood into the front of the figure’s robes, creating a striking contrast with the warm honey-toned interior wood. The figure features the elongated form and simplified, meditative facial expression characteristic of the Salazar family tradition.
