Murat Kaboulov Oil on Canvas “Woman in Blue” #1126 Russian American Impressionst
$1,100.00
Description
Signed and numbered on verso. 24″x12″ (sop) Russian-born Murat Kaboulov (1939–2010) held an MFA from the prestigious Academy of Arts in St. Petersburg, was a member of the Union of Artists of Russia and Portrait Society of America, with works in art museums throughout Russia and private collections worldwide. The painting depicts a woman in a sweeping blue gown seen from behind, standing before a tall cheval mirror in an interior setting. The reflection in the mirror offers a partially glimpsed second view of the subject. The palette of warm ochres, golds, and terra cottas plays against the vivid blue of the dress in classic Impressionist fashion. Loose, confident brushwork throughout — hallmarks of Kaboulov’s mature style. Please see pictures for condition details as the photos are considered part of the description.
